GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Clinical Director is responsible for the development, direction, coordination, and clinical oversight of patient care across all ITS clinics. This role focuses on providing clinical leadership and guidance, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, compliance with clinical standards, and continuous improvement in treatment practices. Operational oversight is handled by Clinic Managers, allowing the Clinical Director to concentrate solely on clinical aspects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Independent licensure through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners is required. At least two years of managerial and supervisory experience, with demonstrated competence in Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT). Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices and clinical protocols. Proven leadership skills, with strong writing, communication, and facilitation abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position may require duties including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing and pulling more than 100 pounds, and requires frequent standing, walking, balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Good visual and auditory acuity as well as good manual dexterity and the ability to be readily understood are essential. Must be able to work in a stressful environment. May be exposed to biohazards and chemicals per Safety policies including hazardous waste and infection control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Leadership:
  • Provide clinical guidance to clinical teams to ensure best practices in patient care.
  • Lead clinical coordination across clinics, ensuring integrated care planning and high-quality treatment delivery.
  • Provide Clinical Guidance to the Health Home, ensuring comprehensive care coordination and integration of services across physical and behavioral health.
  • Clinical Supervision:
  • Ensure staff compliance with clinical guidelines, treatment protocols, and evidence-based practices.
  • Conduct clinical reviews and case consultations with Clinic Managers and clinicians to address complex cases and patient care concerns.
  • Policy Development and Quality Improvement:
  • Understand clinical policies and procedures to ensure best practices in care.
  • Oversee clinical audits and quality assurance efforts to maintain compliance with regulatory standards (ADHS, CARF, AHCCCS) in collaboration with the Director of Operations.
  • Training and Development:
  • Identify training needs and provide clinical training feedback to the Clinical Supervisor, ensuring continuous professional development for all clinical staff.
  • External Collaboration and Consultation:
  • Collaborate with external partners (e.g., Medical Director, Director of Operations, Director of Nursing) to integrate clinical care across all ITS clinics, ensuring clinical excellence.
  • Communicate with and educate other interested parties regarding medication-assisted treatment, ensuring proper releases of information (e.g., employer, family members, parole/probation officers, psychiatrists, primary care physicians).
  • Clinical Assessment and Referral:
  • Evaluate the level of pathology and possible need for hospitalization or psychiatric services, making appropriate referrals based on individual patient needs.
  • Trackers and Audits:
  • Update trackers and audit patient charts to maintain accurate and compliant clinical records.
  • Other Assigned Duties:
  • Perform any other duties as assigned that support the goals and objectives of the clinical program.
