What are the responsibilities and job description for the English As A Second Language Teacher position at Intensive English Center at TSU?
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and meet the needs of adult learners.
- Utilize effective instructional strategies to engage students and promote active learning.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student growth and success.
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to support their learning journey.
- Utilize technology and other resources to enhance instruction and student learning.
- Provide individualized tutoring or support as needed for students.
- Communicate and maintain trust relationships with students, personnel, and guests in the institute and the university campus.
- Perform such other and not specifically enumerated duties as may be requested by the Director, the Board of Trustees or established by the School Code.
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic computer knowledge (Internet, ZOOM, Google)
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of adult learners.
- Experience in lesson planning to create engaging and effective lessons.
Minimum Qualifications/Experience
- TESOL certification.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Master’s Degree or on going course. BA in Education minimum.
- Experience in teaching ESL classes.
