Job Title: Wireless System Validation Engineer (5G / LTE)
Location: Sunnyvale, CA (Onsite)
Duration: 8 months
We are seeking a highly technical Wireless System Validation Engineer to drive the qualification and optimization of our next generation cellular products. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end validation of cellular modem performance, focusing on 5G NR (SA/NSA) and LTEA technologies.
You will bridge the gap between wireless HW development and systemlevel deployment, by understanding compliance with 3GPP standards and carrier requirements while maintaining industry leading performance in power, sensitivity, and throughput.
Responsibilities:
Define, develop, and execute system-level validation test plans for cellular modems across 5G NR (FR1/FR2) and LTE‑A
Perform deep protocol stack log analysis (L1, MAC, RLC, RRC, NAS) to debug signaling issues, handovers, and throughput degradation
Benchmark and optimize key KPIs such as RSRP, SINR, BLER, and peak throughput under varying network conditions
Design and maintain Python-based test automation for lab and regression testing
Collaborate with Firmware, Hardware, and System teams to root-cause and resolve complex issues
Operate and configure cellular network emulators and RF test equipment in signaling and non-signaling modes
Tools & Technologies:
Network Emulators: Keysight UXM, Rohde & Schwarz CMW500 / CMX500, Anritsu MT8000A
Diagnostics & Logging: QXDM, QCAT, Wireshark
Automation & Data: Python (PyTest), Git
RF & Measurement: Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Power Meters, VNA, Keysight 89600 VSA
Required Qualifications
5 years of experience in wireless system validation or modem testing
Strong expertise in 5G NR (SA/NSA) and LTE‑A (CA, MIMO, Beamforming, VoLTE/VoWiFi)
Solid understanding of 3GPP protocols and cellular registration/call-flow processes
Hands-on experience with RF lab equipment
Strong Python skills for test development and data analysis
Experience analyzing modem logs using QXDM, QCAT, Wireshark, or similar tools
B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field
Nice to Have:
Field testing, drive testing, or Interoperability Testing (IOT) experience
Exposure to infrastructure vendors such as Ericsson, Nokia, or Samsung
Knowledge of RF front-end components (PA, LNA, switches, filters)
Salary : $70 - $85
