Title: Hardware Engineer – Power Management & Battery Systems
Work Location: Sunnyvale, CA (Onsite Role)
Duration: 12 Months Contract
Commitment: This is a W2-only position—no C2C.
Core Responsibilities
• Execute comprehensive Hardware Validation testing for new silicon, focusing specifically on Battery Chain ICs and Power Management ICs (PMICs).
• Develop, set up, and perform validation test plans for performance, reliability, and functional verification of power-related hardware.
• Analyze test results, identify hardware defects, debug issues at the component and system level, and collaborate with design engineers to propose and verify fixes.
• Set up and expertly operate standard EE lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, electronic loads (Battery Load management), and data logging equipment.
• Conduct testing under various environmental conditions, requiring experience with and operation of temperature chambers.
• Document validation procedures, test results, and bug reports clearly and meticulously.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of validation methodologies and test coverage.
Required Skills & Experience
• 3-4 years of professional experience in Electrical Engineering, specifically in hardware validation or characterization.
• Solid foundation in Electrical Engineering (EE) principles and analog/digital circuit theory.
• Proven experience in validating Battery Chain ICs (e.g., fuel gauge, charging circuits) and Power Management ICs (PMICs).
• Hands-on expertise in using and interpreting measurements from essential lab equipment:
o Oscilloscope (High-speed signal capture and analysis)
o Multimeter (Precision voltage, current, and resistance measurement)
o Electronic Loads / Battery Load Management systems
o Data Logging equipment for extended test monitoring.
• Experience with temperature chamber operation and performing tests across a wide range of temperatures.
