Job Title: Electrical Engineer (Hardware Validation)
Location: Onsite, Sunnyvale, CA
Duration: 6 months (with potential for extension)
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to support the development and validation of next-generation wearable hardware. This role is heavily hands-on and lab-focused, ideal for an engineer who thrives in fast-paced hardware environments and enjoys deep system-level debugging and validation work.
You will play a critical role in ensuring hardware meets performance, reliability, and safety requirements, with a strong emphasis on power systems, batteries, charging, and overall electrical integrity. The ideal candidate brings strong electrical engineering fundamentals, excellent troubleshooting skills, and experience working on highly integrated consumer electronics or wearable systems.
Responsibilities:
- Own electrical validation efforts for wearable systems, including test planning, coverage definition, and pass/fail criteria
- Perform system-level electrical measurements and analysis across power rails, regulators, batteries, charging paths, and load behavior
- Conduct hands-on lab debugging and troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, power meters, multimeters, logic analyzers, and electronic loads
- Lead failure analysis for electrical issues such as component failures, charging anomalies, battery degradation, and system-level faults
- Review and evaluate schematics, PCB layouts, and electrical designs, identifying risks and recommending improvements
- Review and approve prototypes, working models, and simulation-based designs
- Write high-quality technical documentation, including test plans, validation reports, specifications, and design trade-off analyses
- Support new product introduction (NPI) and manufacturing validation activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, firmware, manufacturing, and test engineering
- Provide guidance to technicians and junior engineers as needed
- Ensure designs and systems align with applicable safety and regulatory standards (e.g., EMC, electrical safety)
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer with strong hands-on lab validation and debugging experience
- Proficiency with electrical lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, power meters, multimeters, electronic loads, logic analyzers, etc.)
- Demonstrated expertise in system-level electrical analysis, including power integrity, transient response, noise, efficiency, and stability
- Experience with high-density rigid and rigid-flex PCB design and system integration
- Proven ability to drive complex issues to root cause in ambiguous environments
- Strong technical documentation and communication skills
- Prior experience in consumer electronics, wearables, or highly integrated electronic systems
- Familiarity with automated test systems and scripting (e.g., Python, LabVIEW, or similar)
- Working knowledge of regulatory and safety requirements (EMC, electrical safety, etc.)
- Embedded software fundamentals, comfortable reviewing logs and basic firmware behavior
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing or maintaining validation methodologies for battery-powered or portable devices
- Experience building automated characterization setups (power profiling, long-duration testing, regression testing)
- Experience supporting manufacturing validation and translating lab results into production test strategies
- Exposure to SoC bring-up, sensor integration, wireless, audio, display systems, or high-speed interfaces (USB, SPI, I²C, MIPI, PCIe)
Salary : $90 - $110
