Role Overview:
The Forklift Mechanic is responsible for performing routine, emergency, and preventative
maintenance on all types of forklifts, including electric, LP, gas, and diesel models. This
role requires diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and brake
systems to ensure safe and reliable operation of forklift equipment. The technician will
interpret technical manuals, replace defective components, maintain a clean and
organized workspace, and uphold all safety standards.
Job Requirement:
- Perform routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance of forklifts.
- Interpret manufacture technical manuals and service bulletins to perform required
maintenance and repairs.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues related to brakes, hydraulics,
electrical systems, mast assemblies, and attachments.
- Able to travel between locations
- Replace or repair defective parts using stock or ordered components.
- Reassemble forklift components and ensure proper and safe operation.
- Conduct safety inspections prior to returning equipment to service.
- Maintain accurate service records, logs, and documentation of preventative
maintenance tasks.
- Clean and maintain equipment and the surrounding work area.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety regulations and OSHA requirements.
- Stay up to date with evolving technologies and maintenance techniques.
- Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in forklift maintenance or a related
mechanical/technical field.
- Certification to operate forklifts and electric pallet jacks
- Experience with brands such as Hyster, Cat, or Mitsubishi forklifts (up to 12,000 lbs.
capacity).
- Working knowledge of brake systems, mast components, tire/wheel changes, and
hydraulic systems.
- Ability to diagnose and service electric, LP, gas, and diesel forklift systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Must be safety-conscious and able to follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Experience in manufacturing, automotive, military, or trade school training.
- Familiarity with industrial electrical systems (up to 440 volts).
- Knowledge of FIFO, GMP, and food safety protocols
Work Environment:
- Temperature-controlled freezer warehouse (can reach below 0°F)
- Frequent standing, lifting, and moving throughout the shift

Pay: $ $29.06 per hour
