Hiring 3 candidates for Inside Sales, would prefer 1 on the west coast, 1 on the east coast, and one in the midwest(Chicago would be ideal).
Position Overview
The Inside Sales Representative plays a key role in driving revenue growth and supporting field sales efforts. This position is responsible for managing the sales pipeline, qualifying inbound and outbound leads, tracking project opportunities, coordinating with external manufacturer representatives, and providing day-to-day support for Regional Sales Managers. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and experienced in CRM management and sales processes within a technical or manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Pipeline Management: Maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline for your assigned region; ensure all opportunities are properly documented and advanced through the sales cycle.
• Lead Qualification: Evaluate inbound leads for product fit and project readiness; perform outbound follow-up to develop new opportunities and nurture early-stage prospects.
• Project Tracking & Follow-Up: Monitor active projects, follow up with customers, reps, and distributors, and ensure timely updates and next steps are executed.
• External Representative Coordination: Serve as a key point of contact for independent sales reps; assist with quoting, product inquiries, project details, and lead assignments.
• Regional Sales Manager Support: Provide administrative and sales support including proposal preparation, CRM updates, appointment setting, and customer follow-up.
• CRM Management: Utilize Salesforce to log activities, track opportunities, generate reports, and maintain clean, complete data.
• Customer Communication: Respond to customer inquiries, provide product information, and help guide customers to appropriate solutions.
• Sales Communication Skills: Utilize strong sales skills through conference calls, phone calls, and emails with engineers, distributors, contractors, and reps.
• Pricing Discussions: Handle pricing conversations professionally with engineers, distributors, and manufacturer reps.
• Technical Skills Development: Learn and apply technical knowledge, including proper sizing of water heaters and providing crossovers for competitive equipment.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with applications, technical support, customer service, and marketing to ensure smooth information flow and customer satisfaction.
• Occasional Travel: Participate in quarterly sales meetings at the Vernon Hills office and attend occasional trade shows as needed.
Qualifications
- Required: BA/BS degree or equivalent.
- Required: Experience with Salesforce or comparable CRM software.
- Required: Previous inside sales, sales support, or sales-related experience (manufacturing or HVAC/plumbing industry experience a plus).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple ongoing opportunities.
- Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and customer-facing.
- Ability to build positive relationships with customers, sales reps, and internal teams.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Salary Range: $75,000-85,000 per year
