Overview

Intelligent Waves has an immediate need for a Network Engineer to support our mission critical work for our government customers. This Network Engineer will support a growing enterprise-wide, deployable, Big Data processing and analysis system and underlying networks – focusing on Network Transport, Setup of Deployable Systems, and Supporting Mission Operations.

Location & Travel:  This Network Engineer position will be based at Nellis AFB, Nevada and will require travel to other sites (up to 50%). Travel will be reimbursed based on GSA Per Diem rates and DoD Joint Travel Regulations (JTR).

 

Security Clearance: This Network Engineer position must be a United States Citizen and hold a current Secret security clearance. Ability to obtain a TS/SCI eligibility.

 

Employees are required to follow all company and customer site COVID-19 protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy IT System and Networks to austere and fixed locations to provide mission capabilities at the edge
  • Deliver end-to-end network engineering services to customers - requirements gathering, design, development, test and documentation of solutions
  • Collaborate with Architecture, Integration, Operations & Maintenance, and User teams to evolve the system
  • Provide Network Engineering for HyperConverged IT Systems based on Dell PowerConnect Switches, Juniper SRX/SSR Firewalls/Routers, TACLANE, GRAYPATH, and other CSfC components
  • Provide Systems Administration for an HyperConverged IT Systems based on:
    • Hardware:  Dell VxRail/PowerEdge Servers, Dell Isilon/Unity Storage, Dell Wyse Thin-Clients/Laptops/Desktops
    • Network:   Dell PowerConnect Switches, Juniper SRX/SSR Firewalls/Routers, TACLANE, GRAYPATH, and other CSfC components
    • Platform:  VMware vSphere & Horizon VDI, Rancher RKE2
    • Software:  Windows AD, Windows 10, Windows Server 2019, Rocky Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Microsoft SQL Server, HADOOP, CHEETAS, and other mission applications
  • Perform installation, configuration, hardening, and testing for new/updated network changes.
  • Implement and test patches and security fixes as required by the network operations and security center or program management office.
  • Proactively monitor network health & status on the LAN and WAN.
  • Interface with government and commercial ISPs.
  • Provide initial stand-up of new sites via multiple network transport means (government transport, commercial ISP, 5G).
  • Coordinate with local comms transport providers to ensure system access.
  • Develop and document CONOPS, TTP, and SOPs
  • Ensure all technical and architectural standards and DoD/AF Guidance
  • Build and maintain positive rapport and partnerships with peers and other relevant team members.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • The employee must be able to occasionally travel away from the normal duty location, to include deployments CONUS and OCONUS.
  • The employee must be willing and able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
  • The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, shift work, and/or overtime to support mission requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) plus five years experience
  • Possess an IAT Level II certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M (i.e., Sec CE [MCSA]).
  • 5 years of experience with the installation, and operations of DoD Networks
  • Cisco CCNA/DEVNET or better certification preferred
  • Must possess an active/current passport.
  • Ability to have a thorough understanding of customer's mission needs and be completely knowledgeable of hardware and software capabilities and limitations supporting that functional system.

 

Salary Range: $59,295-167,651
