Position Summary
The Contract Administration & Compliance Specialist provides part-time operational support to ensure full lifecycle contract management and compliance with State of Maryland requirements. This role is responsible for maintaining contract integrity, supporting audit readiness, and ensuring all contractual obligations are executed accurately and on time.
The ideal candidate has experience in government contracting, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple contract activities in a structured, compliance-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full contract lifecycle activities including execution, amendments, renewals, and closeout
- Ensure compliance with State of Maryland contract terms, reporting requirements, and audit standards
- Track contract deliverables, milestones, and performance metrics in alignment with program schedules
- Coordinate invoicing support in accordance with contractual terms (e.g., Net 30/45 payment structures)
- Maintain centralized, audit-ready contract documentation and records
- Support procurement integrity and subcontractor compliance requirements
- Track and report Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) participation in accordance with State guidelines
- Assist with preparation for audits, contract reviews, and compliance reporting
- Identify compliance risks and support implementation of corrective actions
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5 years of experience in contract administration, compliance, or government contracting
- Working knowledge of State or Federal contract requirements and audit standards
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a structured environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and document management systems)
Preferred
- Experience with State of Maryland contracts
- Familiarity with MBE (Minority Business Enterprise) compliance and reporting
- Experience supporting procurement or subcontractor oversight
- Knowledge of audit preparation and documentation standards
