Position Overview: The Heat Pump Technician performs hands-on installation, maintenance, and repair of heat pump systems in residential and light commercial settings. Working under the supervision of a Team Lead, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of HVAC components, refrigerant systems, and related equipment. - Install, service, and troubleshoot air-to-air and geothermal heat pump systems.
- Work on HVAC electrical wiring, refrigerant charging, ductwork, condensate drainage, and geothermal loop connections.
- Assist in system commissioning and performance testing under the guidance of a Team Lead.
- Follow EPA Section 608 regulations for safe refrigerant handling.
- Use mobile apps and digital tools to document work and report progress.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in good condition.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate professionally with customers.
- Participate in ongoing technical training and certification programs. Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 13 years of experience in HVAC, heat pump, or related trades preferred.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC electrical systems and refrigerant handling.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Valid drivers license with clean record.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical tasks.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. Nice to Have (Optional)
- EPA Section 608 Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience with smart thermostat installation and app-based system setups.
