Duties
- Assist with the preparation of job sites, including measuring, layout, and surface cleaning to ensure optimal conditions for flooring installation
- Support lead installers by handling hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely and efficiently during installation projects
- Help with the removal of old flooring materials and debris to maintain a clean work environment
- Aid in precise tile laying, caulking, trim carpentry, and fixture installation as directed by supervisors
- Read blueprints and schematics to understand project specifications and ensure accurate execution of flooring plans
- Participate in water damage restoration projects by assisting with moisture mitigation and floor care procedures
- Support restoration industry tasks such as sanding, buffing, and surface finishing to achieve a polished final look
Skills
- Basic knowledge of construction estimating and blueprint reading for accurate project execution
- Familiarity with flooring installation techniques including tile laying, laminate, vinyl, and hardwood floors
- Experience with hand tools (e.g., hammers, chisels) and power tools (e.g., saws, drills) used in construction and remodeling projects
- Strong understanding of construction site safety protocols and ability to work safely around heavy equipment
- Ability to perform carpentry tasks such as trim carpentry, cabinet installation, caulking, and fixture setup
- Knowledge of water damage restoration processes and floor care maintenance techniques
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and reading schematics or technical drawings
