The Senior Director of Military & Government Business Development for US is responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing business opportunities with Military, Security, and Public Sector clients. This role defines and executes the Military and Government business strategy, driving revenue growth across the region. Revenue delivery involves leveraging the existing portfolio (Maritime, Land, and Aviation segments) and securing contracts for bespoke product development based on RFIs and Public Tenders. A key function is defining and shaping customer requirements to position Intellian as an essential partner in their technology roadmap.
This role can be based in either Irvine, CA or Rockville, MD.
Main Responsibilities and Tasks:
1. Business Development & Revenue Generation
- Identify and pursue opportunities across the Land, Maritime, and Aviation segments in all target countries.
- Build a robust short-term and long-term pipeline to ensure effective opportunity closure and sustained revenue generation.
- Present the full product portfolio and roadmap, highlighting key features and USPs to decision-makers and influencers.
- Provide strategic input into the product roadmap based on upcoming opportunities and customer requirements.
- Conduct customer seminars or workshops to gather customer feedback.
2. Market Strategy & Intelligence
- Formulate and execute the Military and Government strategy for the region, including long-term and short-term goals.
- Report on and monitor market trends, budgets, and priorities within the Military and Government sector.
- Gather competitor intelligence, including pricing and technology strategy.
- Monitor procurement pipelines (e.g., MoD, NATO, and EU Navy and Army customers).
- Identify emerging needs related to national security, technology, and cyber.
3. Stakeholder Engagement & Marketing
- Build and maintain relationships with military commands, government agencies, and contractors.
- Navigate and manage formal procurement processes, including Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Invitations to Tender (ITTs).
- Attend industry events, Mil Gov exhibitions, and networking forums.

4. Proposal & Bid Management
- Coordinate and develop high-quality bids that align with government requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, legal, and ethical standards (e.g., ITAR, FAR, ISO).
- Work with internal teams (Legal, Finance, Technical and Exec) to submit competitive offers.
5. Strategic Partnerships
- Form alliances with key partners, as well as recruiting new partners to increase reach and market penetration in all target countries.
- Leverage existing framework agreements or preferred supplier listings, ensuring Intellian are included in key frameworks and catalogues for procurement.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Experience & Professional Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant field (required).
- Significant sales experience within the technology segment of the Military and Government sectors (required).
- Military background (highly advantageous).
- Proven experience in data collection and analysis to drive strategic decisions.
