Job Description:
We are seeking a Forward Deployment Engineer (FDE) who acts as a customer‑facing engineer, working closely with clients to deploy, customize, and operationalize advanced software/data platforms. The role requires strong software engineering, data problem‑solving, and client interaction skills, bridging the gap between product engineering and real‑world customer use cases.
Required Skills
- Strong software engineering skills in Python (primary)
- Solid experience with SQL and relational / analytical databases
- Experience working with data pipelines, ETL/ELT, APIs, and integrations
- Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Ability to work in customer‑facing roles and explain complex systems clearly
- Strong problem‑solving mindset with the ability to work in ambiguous environments
- Experience deploying solutions in production environments
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with customers and stakeholders to understand business problems and translate them into technical solutions
- Deploy, configure, and customize data platforms, analytics solutions, or enterprise software
- Build data pipelines, integrations, and custom workflows using Python, SQL, APIs, and cloud services
- Rapidly prototype and iterate solutions in customer environments
- Support end‑to‑end delivery: design → implementation → deployment → production support
- Collaborate with core product/engineering teams to influence product roadmap based on field learnings
- Troubleshoot complex data, performance, and integration issues
- Provide onboarding, enablement, and technical guidance to customer teams
Good to Have
- Experience with distributed systems or big data frameworks (Spark, Kafka, Airflow)
- Exposure to ML/AI workflows or analytics platforms
- Experience in consulting, platform deployment, or solutions engineering
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes
- Prior experience in industries such as manufacturing, energy, healthcare, or finance
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent practical experience
