Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Reliability Technician Consultant to support a growing Reliability Engineering function within a dynamic R&D laboratory environment. This role has been created as part of ongoing remediation and expansion efforts, offering an opportunity to work closely with reliability engineers and cross-functional teams on critical testing and lab operations.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in reliability testing within regulated industries such as Medical Devices, Aerospace, or Supply Chain/Manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Reliability Engineers to execute system-level and sub-system testing within R&D lab environments
- Conduct reliability, thermal, and performance testing, ensuring accurate execution and documentation
- Support software/system testing using tools such as Python, Minitab, LabVIEW, or similar platforms
- Perform data collection, analysis, and reporting from test results to support engineering decisions
- Assist with CAD models and electrical system evaluations during testing activities
- Provide hands-on lab support, including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of test equipment
- Maintain lab cleanliness and organization, including cleaning glassware, equipment, and shared workspaces
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Quality, Engineering) to ensure smooth lab operations
- Support ongoing process improvements and remediation initiatives within the reliability function
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Reliability Technician or similar role
- Industry experience in Medical Devices (preferred), Aerospace, or Supply Chain/Manufacturing
- Strong hands-on experience with system and sub-system testing in lab environments
- Proficiency with testing and analysis tools such as Python, Minitab, LabVIEW, MacLab, or similar
- Experience working with CAD models and electrical systems in a testing environment
- Background in thermal testing and data collection methodologies
- Familiarity with lab operations, equipment handling, and safety protocols
- Ability to support lab maintenance and cleanliness alongside technical responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in regulated environments (FDA, ISO, GMP)
- Exposure to design verification/validation (DV/IV/OV) testing
- Strong documentation and data integrity practices
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced R&D setting
