Secure Network Engineer MACsec/IEEE 802.1AE

Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced MACsec Consultant to design, implement, and support secure network solutions using MACsec and related standards in enterprise and carrier environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy and manage MACsec (IEEE 802.1AE) for secure Ethernet links.

• Configure and troubleshoot IEEE 802.1X / 802.1X-2010 (MKA) for network access control and key management.

• Integrate hardware encryption on enterprise/carrier switches (Microsemi, Cisco, Juniper, etc.).

• Analyze MACsec operations using packet capture, CLI, SNMP, and syslog.

• Provide guidance on switch firmware, SDK, and software stack for MACsec deployment.

• Document solutions, best practices, and troubleshooting steps.

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of IEEE 802.1AE, 802.1X, 802.1X-2010 (MKA).

• Experience with hardware-based encryption on network switches.

• Proficiency with SNMP, CLI, syslog, and packet analysis tools.

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for L2/L3 environments.

• Good documentation and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Microsemi Carrier Ethernet switches.

• Network security certifications (CCNP Security, JNCIP-SEC, MACsec Specialist).

• Exposure to automation tools (Ansible, Python).

• Knowledge of IPsec, TLS, DTLS.
