The Materials Handler III is responsible for supporting warehouse operations through the accurate movement, storage, and distribution of materials. Working under general supervision, this role performs receiving, put-away, inventory management, order picking, cycle counting, shipping, and material handling activities while maintainingcompliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Execute material movement activities accurately and efficiently within the warehouse environment.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and shipments as required.
- Process receiving transactions, stock transfers, material requests, and inventory put-away.
- Pick customer orders and prepare shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Perform cycle counting and inventory verification activities.
- Utilize ERP systems to manage material transactions and inventory records.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies using root cause analysis and assist with resolution efforts.
- Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, stretch wrappers, and other warehouse equipment, following proper training and certification requirements.
- Drive company cut-away box trucks between facilities when appropriately trained and authorized.
- Assist with on-the-job training and mentoring of warehouse associates.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to warehouse operations, material flow, and process optimization.
- Identify process inefficiencies and communicate improvement opportunities to management.
- Maintain positive working relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
- Comply with all company policies, environmental health and safety procedures, GMP requirements, ISO standards, and department-specific operating procedures.
- Adhere to FDA regulations and all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Participate in safety, quality, and operational committees as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of material handling, inventory control, or warehouse experience preferred.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management processes.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact across multiple organizational levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to frequently sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday.
- Ability to reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and perform repetitive movements.
- Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
