Role: Senior IT Project Manager
Location: Remote
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of public health terminology solutions using standards such as LOINC, SNOMED, ICD-10, USCDI , and FHIR.
- Map complex laboratory assays and scientific data to standardized vocabularies for accurate reporting and surveillance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and development organizations to develop and enhance data standards.
- Analyze and improve data quality and consistency across clinical, laboratory, and epidemiological datasets.
- Support integration efforts ensuring alignment with HL7 and public health interoperability frameworks.
Required Qualifications
- 10 years of experience as a Public Health Terminologist / SME
Strong expertise in:
o LOINC, SNOMED, ICD-10
o HL7, FHIR, USCDI
- Proven experience in vocabulary authoring and data standards implementation
- Experience supporting CDC or federal public health data initiatives
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex laboratory and surveillance data
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in federal, state, or local public health environments
- Experience implementing standards in healthcare or laboratory systems
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, SAS, R, Python)
- Experience with PHINVADS
- Knowledge of infectious disease surveillance and public health informatics
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or Health Informatics
