Overview
The Human Factors Engineer will support new product development projects with a focus on catheter systems and hardware-based medical devices. This role ensures that user needs, clinical workflows, and usability requirements are integrated throughout the product lifecycle, from early research through formative and summative evaluations.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute human factors activities for new product development, including user research, task analysis, risk analysis, and usability testing.
Lead formative and summative usability studies in alignment with regulatory expectations and industry standards (e.g., FDA, IEC 62366).
Collaborate with R&D, design, clinical, quality, and regulatory teams to ensure ergonomic, safe, and intuitive product designs, particularly for catheter and hardware systems.
Translate user needs and usability findings into actionable design requirements and recommendations.
Produce human factors documentation to support design controls and regulatory submissions.
Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, and verification/validation planning.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Factors Engineering, Ergonomics, Biomedical Engineering (with HFE focus), or related discipline.
Experience in catheter design, interventional devices, or hardware-focused medical products preferred.
Demonstrated experience conducting formative and summative usability studies.
Strong understanding of usability engineering processes and medical device standards.
Salary : $30 - $40
