Senior Instrument Assembly & Test Technician – Day Shift
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Instrument Assembly & Test Technician to support production assembly, system-level testing, and performance optimization of moderately complex instruments in a regulated manufacturing environment. This role requires strong electromechanical troubleshooting skills, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to mentor and support other team members while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform production assembly, system integration, functional testing, and release testing of instruments
- Conduct electrical, mechanical, and basic software troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve test failures
- Analyze test results and performance data to determine pass/fail status and implement corrective actions
- Optimize system performance, including precision motion and/or optical/light systems
- Identify defects and recommend process or design improvements
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for instrument functional performance
- Build, integrate, and fully understand the complete assembly and testing process for assigned instruments
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and workmanship standards
- Train and mentor associates on assembly, testing, and troubleshooting activities
- Process and disposition Quality Notifications (QNs)
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Purchasing teams as needed
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with GMP, safety, quality, and company procedures
- Perform standard material handling for raw materials and sub-assemblies
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment following all housekeeping policies
- Support Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives
- Work overtime as required to meet business needs
- Perform other duties as assigned
QualificationsEducation & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED with 6 years of manufacturing experience, OR
- Associate (AA) technical degree with 2 years of experience
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment required
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong electromechanical assembly and testing experience
- Proven ability to support testing of moderately complex instruments
- Proficiency with mechanical tools (torque drivers, gauges, measurement tools)
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and test instructions
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Experience working within GMP and Quality systems
- Ability to manage multiple production orders and changing priorities
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and train others
- Strong commitment to Continuous Improvement / Lean Manufacturing
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
Technical & Computer Skills
- Basic PC skills and experience working in a Windows environment
- Strong math and data analysis skills
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, and verbal communication)
Job Types: Full-time, Temp-to-hire, Contract
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
