Job Summary

We are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to support electrical design, PCB development, PCBA board activation, and system integration activities at Brooks Automation in Chelmsford, Massachusetts.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 5–6 years of relevant experience with electrical wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and PCB-related engineering activities. Competency in Altium is preferred.

This role involves working with cross-functional engineering teams to develop new PCBs, support system integration and tool builds, and ensure technical documentation and engineering design standards are followed.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the engineering team to develop new printed circuit boards (PCBs) for system applications.
• Create, review, and maintain electrical wiring diagrams and schematic drawings.
• Support PCBA board activation and related electrical engineering activities.
• Participate in system engineering, system integration, and tool-build activities.
• Support electrical interconnections and integration requirements during machine builds.
• Use laboratory equipment and engineering tools to support testing, troubleshooting, and verification.
• Work closely with Mechanical Engineering and other teams to develop complete product solutions.
• Ensure technical documentation is accurate, complete, and maintained according to established requirements.
• Follow engineering processes, systems, and design standards.
• Support the integration of electrical components and PCB assemblies into system-level solutions.
• Troubleshoot electrical design and integration issues and collaborate with relevant teams on corrective actions.
• Communicate engineering requirements, technical findings, design updates, and project progress to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5–6 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
• Experience with electrical wiring diagrams and schematic drawings.
• Experience with PCB development or PCBA-related engineering activities.
• Knowledge of system engineering and integration processes.
• Familiarity with electrical interconnections during machine builds.
• Experience using laboratory equipment and engineering tools.
• Ability to prepare and maintain technical documentation.
• Understanding of engineering processes, systems, and design standards.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Mechanical Engineering and other technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Competency in Altium for PCB design and related engineering activities.
• Experience developing new PCBs for complex systems.
• Experience with PCBA board activation and system integration.
• Experience supporting tool builds and machine assembly.
• Familiarity with electrical testing, laboratory measurement tools, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Experience in multidisciplinary product development environments.
