Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Automation Technician with a strong background in injection molding automation to support, troubleshoot, and optimize robotic and automated manufacturing systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with robot programming, PLCs, HMIs, servo systems, motion control, VFDs, and pneumatic/hydraulic equipment while ensuring maximum equipment uptime, process efficiency, and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair molding automation systems, including robots, conveyors, sensors, and vision systems.
- Program, optimize, and maintain robots (Sepro, Fanuc, Yushin, Wittmann) for part handling and packaging.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automation equipment, sensors, actuators, and EOAT.
- Support mold trials, new product launches, and continuous process improvements.
- Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics.
- Maintain equipment documentation, program backups, and maintenance records.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and applicable ISO, FDA, and GMP requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4 years of experience in injection molding automation or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with robot programming and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, industrial sensors, servo motors, motion control systems, VFDs, and pneumatic/hydraulic equipment.
- Experience with EOAT (End-of-Arm Tooling) maintenance and support.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Technical Certification or Associate's Degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, or Industrial Automation preferred.
