Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Central Lab Microbiology Manager to oversee microbiology laboratory operations, ensuring high-quality diagnostic testing and regulatory compliance. This role involves managing staff, optimizing workflows, maintaining quality standards, and collaborating with healthcare teams to support patient care and infection control initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily microbiology laboratory operations, including bacteriology, virology, mycology, and parasitology testing.
- Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, FDA, and other regulatory standards.
- Manage, train, and evaluate laboratory staff to maintain high performance and accuracy.
- Develop and implement quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) protocols.
- Evaluate and adopt new microbiological testing methods and technologies.
- Collaborate with infectious disease teams on infection control and outbreak investigations.
- Maintain lab safety protocols and biohazard handling procedures.
Qualifications:
· 3-5 years’ supervisory level (Supervisor, Manager or Director) Microbiology experience required in a central or high-volume bacteriology laboratory setting
· A 4-Year/Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology
· NAACLS Accredited Certification (ASCP, AMT, etc.) is required
Compensation: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
