Role Description The BMET II role at Intelas is a full-time, on-site position located in Booneville, MS. This role is responsible for inspecting, testing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of medical equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. The BMET II performs scheduled preventive maintenance, completes corrective repairs, and documents all work in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. Day-to-day tasks include troubleshooting equipment issues, calibrating devices, supporting clinical staff with equipment use and availability, and coordinating with vendors or senior technicians when needed. The role also involves adhering to electrical and safety protocols, participating in performance improvement initiatives, and contributing to a culture of quality and customer service within the healthcare facility.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Equipment Maintenance and Equipment Repair to support reliable operation of medical devices.
- Candidates should possess skills related to Medical Equipment, including familiarity with a broad range of clinical devices and their applications.
- Candidates should possess skills in Calibration to ensure equipment accuracy and compliance with performance standards.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Electrical Safety to work safely around energized equipment and meet regulatory requirements.
- Associate degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or a related technical field, or equivalent military/industry training.
- 2–4 years of progressive experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician or similar role in a healthcare environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation, and to use diagnostic tools and test equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple service requests in a clinical setting.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with clinical staff, vendors, and technical teams.
- Knowledge of applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, NFPA, OSHA) is preferred.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CBET) are beneficial but not required.
