Digital Print Lead Operator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Print Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in screen printing, layout design, press operations, and quality control. As a Print Operator, you will be responsible for operating printing equipment to produce high-quality printed materials.

Responsibilities:

- Operate and maintain printing machinery such as presses and other equipment
- Set up printing jobs according to job specifications
- Monitor print jobs to ensure quality standards are met
- Perform routine maintenance on printing equipment
- Inspect printed materials for accuracy and quality control
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals

Daily Tasks:

· Must be able to perform and/or understand the function of the operator position and functionality of the equipment in order to train new people the same.

· Perform the cleaning and maintenance responsibilities of the shift throughout the day to insure work areas stay cleaned and organized. o

· Be responsible for the print quality and productivity of the assigned equipment and/or staff. This includes making sure that ink colors match the PMS callouts prior to printing, correct garments are being printed, ink is curing properly, placement of print is correct, consistency and clarity of print are being addressed, designs are imaged accurately, etc.

· Meet the expected completion times of the production schedule daily. When this is not possible, provide enough notice to the Digital Print Manager to react with thorough explanations and potential solutions to avoid in the future.

· Document daily production numbers on total shirts printed, total defects and time worked and be able to explain variances to generate the daily shift production report.

· Assist in the management of all inventories or supplies that are utilized by the department to insure there is always an adequate supply with no need to expedite delivery. Alert Digital Print Manager when supplies are depleted.

· Be responsible for the training of all personnel assigned. Motivate staff to perform their position as a systems expert.

· Be able to evaluate performance of Digital Print Specialists and their progress when being trained.

· Must be able to tolerate the warm to hot ambient temperature of the work area.

· Must be able to tolerate dusty environment due to airborne particles.

· Must be able to tolerate smells and odors generated from the chemicals used for cleaning and repairs to garments.

· Perform and/or delegate required maintenance on the machinery as instructed.

Requirements:

- Proficiency in screen printing techniques
- Experience with layout design and prepress processes
- Knowledge of typography and print advertising principles
- Ability to fabricate and machine materials as needed
- Strong attention to detail and quality control practices

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
