Position Overview
This position includes setting up, programming, operating, and inspecting precision-machined components on 3, 4, 5-axis CNC equipment. This position is suited for someone who can read and interpret engineering drawings, program via CAM software, and take pride in producing accurate, high-quality parts.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC mills
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and machining specifications
- Select appropriate tooling, work holding, speeds and feeds
- Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary process adjustments
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow established quality and safety procedures
- Work to tight tolerances and maintain consistent part quality
- Assist with process improvement and machining efficiency
Qualifications
Required:
- 3-axis CNC machining experience
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment
- Basic understanding of cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining processes
- Strong attention to detail
- Dependable work ethic and good attendance
Preferred:
- Programming experience with hyperMILL
- Experience with 4, 5-axis machining
- Experience with tight-tolerance precision machining
- Experience with hard-milling, exotic alloys
