We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team in Pulaski, TN. This position is responsible for setting up and operating manual and CNC machining equipment to manufacture and repair high-precision mold components, tooling, and production parts.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual mills, lathes, grinders, and CNC machining equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, CAD prints, and work instructions
- Machine precision components to close tolerances for molds, tooling, fixtures, and production equipment
- Measure parts using calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments
- Perform machine setups, tooling changes, offsets, and basic programming edits as needed
- Verify dimensions and quality of finished parts to ensure specifications are met
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make process adjustments to improve quality and efficiency
- Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain clean, organized work areas
- Work with engineering, mold makers, and supervisors to prioritize jobs and meet deadlines
- Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and quality standards
- Accurately complete production records, inspection sheets, and related documentation
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Previous machinist experience in a manufacturing or tool shop environment preferred
- Experience operating manual machines, CNC machines, or both
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering specifications
- Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, tolerances, and machining processes
- Experience using precision measuring equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Basic computer skills for production tracking and documentation
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Experience machining plastic injection mold components
- Experience with CNC programming or editing toolpaths
- Experience with Tebis, Mastercam, or other CAM software
- Familiarity with mold components, hot runner systems, cooling systems, and mold repair
- Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts
- Knowledge of metric conversions and tight-tolerance machining
