Senior System Administrator

Join our client in Newark, DE working onsite as a Sr. Systems Administrator. This is a direct placement opportunity.

This position has hands-on technical and administrative responsibility for managing and maintaining all capabilities within the IT Infrastructure portfolio, including critical IT infrastructure components such as Windows, Linux, Active Directory, and physical, virtual, and cloud-based environments. As a senior staff member, this role provides guidance on planning, policy, and system integrity.

This includes monitoring existing solutions, executing new and upgrade implementations, implementing enhancements, and performing required maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and troubleshoot servers, hardware, operating systems, hypervisors, storage, virtual environments, and cloud infrastructure.
• Manage Windows and Linux systems and Microsoft technologies.
• Administer Active Directory, including user accounts, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, authentication, and authorization.
• Support electronic communications, server rooms, disaster recovery sites, web servers, business applications, backup and recovery solutions, and end-user technology.
• Implement and manage security patches, system updates, upgrades, and infrastructure enhancements.
• Develop automation, monitoring, alerting, reporting, and remediation tools.
• Identify business and technical needs and implement new hardware, software, applications, processes, and services.
• Troubleshoot incidents, address performance issues, and remediate infrastructure vulnerabilities.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call production support.
• Develop technical documentation, project plans, configurations, procedures, and system standards.
• Support infrastructure roadmaps, lifecycle planning, annual budgets, capital expenditures, and project schedules.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, cybersecurity controls, audits, licensing requirements, vendor agreements, and applicable regulations.
• Maintain and periodically test disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.
• Manage vendor relationships, evaluate technology solutions, and negotiate favorable contract terms.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Technical Requirements

• Advanced experience administering Windows and Linux environments.
• Strong Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, identity management, authentication, and authorization expertise.
• Experience with physical servers, virtualization, hypervisors, storage, and cloud infrastructure.
• Knowledge of backup and recovery, disaster recovery, web servers, monitoring, performance management, and vulnerability remediation.
• Experience with infrastructure automation, security patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across hardware, software, networked systems, and cloud environments.
• Availability to participate in a 24/7 on-call support rotation.
