Job Opportunity: CNC Programmer III – 1st Shift
A client of ours in Tigard is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer III to join their advanced manufacturing team. This role is responsible for CNC programming, process development, and continuous improvement efforts within a precision machining environment. This is a great opportunity for an experienced programmer looking to work closely with operators, engineers, and production teams while leading complex machining projects and supporting long-term operational growth.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain CNC programs, setup sheets, tooling paths, and machining documentation.
- Create CNC programs from CAD files, engineering drawings, and part geometry using CAM software.
- Collaborate with operators, engineering, and production teams to improve machining quality, efficiency, and productivity.
- Support CNC operators with tooling, machine optimization, troubleshooting, and process improvements.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of manufacturing work instructions and production processes.
- Lead and mentor junior programmers and support training initiatives within the machining department.
- Work closely with engineering teams regarding fixture design, tooling development, and corrective actions.
- Monitor project timelines and help lead machining projects from development through production completion.
- Maintain accurate production records, labor tracking, and process documentation.
- Follow company safety standards and best manufacturing practices at all times.
Requirements:
- 4 years of CNC programming and manufacturing experience required.
- Associate degree in Manufacturing, CNC Programming, or related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM software, AutoCAD, and CNC programming processes.
- Ability to read blueprints, bills of materials, and machine codes.
- Experience troubleshooting machining and programming issues in a production environment.
- Knowledge of tooling speeds, feeds, fixtures, and machining processes for various materials.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment and maintaining tight tolerances.
- Strong communication, leadership, and team collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and safety awareness required.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm
Pay: Starting at $40/hr. depending on experience
Duration: This is a temp-to-hire position.
