Armed School Security Officer – Philadelphia, PA

Integrity Security Services is seeking experienced armed school security officers for a private school in Philadelphia.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: ACTIVE OR RETIRED LAW ENFORCEMENT ONLY.

Applicants must currently serve or have retired from a local, state, or federal law enforcement agency. If you are not active or retired law enforcement, please do not apply. You will not be considered for this position.

This position is ideal for an experienced law enforcement professional who understands that school security requires more than simply standing a post. Officers must be alert, professional, approachable, and capable of interacting appropriately with students, parents, teachers, administrators, visitors, and other members of the school community.

Schedule

Full-time and part-time positions are available.

Requirements

• Active or retired law enforcement officer required
• Current Pennsylvania Act 235 certification required
• Must provide and carry your own approved firearm
• Prior active shooter response training required
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to successfully complete a background check
• Professional references
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies
• Must be reliable, punctual, and professional
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
• Must be able to patrol stairs and multiple areas of the property
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
• Must be physically capable of responding quickly during an emergency

Responsibilities

• Maintain an armed security presence at a private school
• Monitor entrances and exits
• Control access to the property
• Screen and monitor visitors
• Assist with student arrival and dismissal
• Conduct foot patrols throughout the property
• Monitor for suspicious persons, vehicles, packages, or activity
• Maintain situational awareness throughout the shift
• Respond immediately to security incidents and emergencies
• Apply law enforcement experience and active shooter response training when necessary
• Coordinate with Philadelphia Police, fire, EMS, and other emergency personnel when appropriate
• Communicate professionally with school administrators and staff
• Build positive relationships with parents, teachers, students, and members of the school community
• Document incidents and unusual activity when required
• Follow all assigned post orders and security procedures

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for officers who understand that visibility, professionalism, communication, and good judgment are critical in a school environment.

The ideal candidate is approachable and friendly when interacting with the school community but remains constantly aware of their surroundings and prepared to respond when necessary.

This is an active security position. Officers are expected to remain engaged throughout their shift, conduct patrols, monitor their assigned areas, and maintain a professional presence.

Pay: From $33.65 per hour
