What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Sales Representative - Automation position at Integrity Resources?
This Technical Sales Representative role will require a versatile person who sells, supports, and coordinates. Not a pure closer, not a pure account manager.
They open new plants, absorb the light procurement and follow-up work currently consuming the owner's day, and learn the business well enough to interact in front of a maintenance manager.
This is the seed of a department. As headcount grows, the role splits into new business, account growth, and inside support. The right person who can carry all three now will be given the opportunity to lead one of them as the company grows,
Responsibilities:
Walk into a dirty plant. Boots, hard hat, safety glasses, no complaints. Bonding with the customer
happens on the floor, not in a conference room.
Handles rough personalities. The customer base is blue collar and blunt.
Technical aptitude. They do not need an engineering degree, but they cannot be blind to what a motor, a
drive, or a conveyor is.
They must pick up the lingo fast or they will never be respected.
Problem-solver-a person who gains satisfaction from fixing existing customer problems.
Engineering-like discipline. Detailed and organized. Runs a checklist. Does not leave gaps.
Basic procurement and support - Can read a tag, work a vendor portal, chase an order, and
keep a project moving.
Duties:
Open new plants. Work the accounts going untouched today —
Run structured discovery. Every customer conversation follows the battle card. It is a checklist, not a
script: what's the issue, what have they tried, what is it costing them.
Handle light procurement. Pull the SO number off an SEW tag and get the RFQ into the portal. Quote a
replacement PLC card.
Track and expedite orders. Where are the parts, when do they land, which vendor needs a phone call.
Light project coordination — not engineering project management.
Required Skills:
Previous Engineering Background with Automation experience preferred
Experience working and selling in a blue collar, Plant/ based sales environment
Complete comfort working in boots, hard hat, safety glasses on customer worksites.
Familiarity with PLC's, Drives, maintenance and Equipment
Previous sales experience in the Gas/oil, Engineering, Automation combined with technical maintenance familiarity
Location: Tri state area (Pa, Ohio, West Virginia)
Paid time off
Vacation
Vehicle Allowance
