Role Description The Printing Press Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in Clare, MI. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring printing presses used to convert large paper rolls into custom printed register rolls. Daily tasks include preparing materials, loading and adjusting paper rolls, performing basic pre-press checks, and ensuring print quality meets company standards. The Printing Press Operator will inspect output for accuracy, troubleshoot mechanical or printing issues, and perform routine cleaning and minor maintenance on equipment. This role also collaborates with production and quality teams to meet schedule requirements, follow safety protocols, and support continuous improvement in press operations.
Qualifications
- Ability to operate and monitor printing and converting machinery, including Machine Operation and Printing skills.
- Experience with Quality Control, including inspecting printed rolls, verifying specifications, and maintaining consistent standards.
- Strong Troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving basic mechanical, alignment, and print-related issues.
- Familiarity with Pre-press processes such as setting up jobs, reviewing specifications, and preparing materials for production.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in printing or manufacturing is a plus.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and equipment in a production environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move paper rolls, and work safely in a manufacturing setting.
- Reliable attendance, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Experience in a printing, packaging, or converting facility is preferred but not required; on-the-job training may be provided.
