Job Summary
The Mold Maintenance Technician II is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and optimization of molds and related equipment used in the injection molding process. This role ensures that molds are maintained to the highest standards to minimize downtime and production interruptions, enhance product quality, and extend the lifespan of the equipment.
A successful Mold Maintenance Technician II must have knowledge of technical drawings, some 2D/3D CAD experience, and is proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Key Responsibilities
- Supports continuous improvement activities.
- Supports implementation of new injection molding tools and its peripherals.
- Work with vendors to resolve tooling issues.
- Disassembly and assembly of injection molding tools.
- Responsible for managing the mold spare parts.
- Maintain mold readiness according to production schedule.
- Carry out necessary manual work on the workbench.
- Check tools and components for wear, replace defective and worn parts, and rework tools and molds if necessary.
- Test repaired tools and molds as specified.
- Assist with mold changes and setups, ensuring molds are properly installed and aligned for production runs.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while performing maintenance tasks to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement process improvements and contribute to the development of best practices.

Qualifications
- Self-starter; must be able to work with little direction and with a high level of self-motivation.
- Quality orientation and high attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be able to work well with subordinates, peers, and superiors in all departments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, precision measuring instruments, and hand tools related to mold maintenance.
- Experience working with basic measuring tools, e.g., pie tape, micrometers, calibers, pyrometer.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with mold design, materials, and manufacturing processes
Working Conditions
This position operates in a manufacturing facility where employees are exposed to various environmental factors, including but not limited to noise, dust, odors, and temperature fluctuations. The role may require standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and required in designated areas.
