What are the responsibilities and job description for the Carrier Services Specialist position at Integrity Express Logistics?
As a Carrier Services Specialist your primary function will be to process broker requests to enter new and verify existing IEL carriers. You will act as the liaison between the sales team and the carriers we partner with to transport goods for the customer. Carrier setup and verification is a critical and time sensitive element to IEL’s business and is counted on to provide excellent service to both internal and external partners.
This position is a member of the Carrier Services department and reports to the Carrier Services Supervisor.

- Process Broker requests to unlock and verify existing IEL carriers in a timely manner
- Display working knowledge of IEL carrier setup and verification procedures
- Review TMS and identity information that needs to be updated or verified
- Work with Carriers’ insurance provider to verify IEL coverage requirements are met
- Review proper external carrier verification websites for any information relevant to IEL processes, Safer Watch, Carrier411, and Internet Truckstop among them
- Identify and communicate with management and broker when criteria are not met such as such as active DOT authority, IEL minimum insurance requirements, and ability to verify carrier identity
- Provide feedback to management regarding ways to improve process
- Assist managing a database of over 45,000 carriers
- Handle additional duties as needed
Basic (Required)
- High school degree or GED
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Some data entry and customer service experience
- Work well in fast paced team settings
- Ability to work on multiple tasks in a time sensitive environment
- Comply with company procedures and escalate issues as needed
- Transportation or logistics related work experience
- Knowledge of commercial insurance
- Familiarity with a transportation management software
- Basic understanding for FMSCA and Department of Transportation or other transportation related regulatory bodies
