Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Database Administrator (DBA) Engineer to architect, implement, and support secure, highly available, and scalable database platforms across on-premises and AWS cloud environments. This senior-level role is responsible for engineering and administering DB2 LUW, Microsoft SQL Server, and cloud database services that support mission-critical payment systems and enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will lead database modernization, automation, high availability, disaster recovery, and cloud migration initiatives while driving Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps best practices. This position also provides technical leadership, mentors team members, and ensures database environments meet enterprise standards for performance, security, and compliance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 10 years of enterprise database administration and engineering experience.
- Expert-level experience with Db2 LUW and Microsoft SQL Server in enterprise Linux/Windows environments.
- Hands-on experience designing and supporting AWS database platforms (RDS, EC2, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, AWS Backup).
- Strong expertise in high availability, disaster recovery, database performance tuning, and enterprise database migrations.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
- Experience supporting mission-critical production environments with stringent uptime and security requirements.
Desired Skills
- AWS, Microsoft, or IBM database/cloud certifications.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, or containerized database platforms.
- Familiarity with enterprise monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or Datadog.
- Experience working in highly regulated financial services or other compliance-driven environments.
