I.C.M. – Project Coordinator Purpose: We are seeking a diligent Project Coordinator to support our team and ensure the successful execution, and completion of our projects. Our ideal candidate will oversee and manage the daily operations of the project, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to the plan. Their expertise will help serve as an on-site leader, coordinating workers, subcontractors and suppliers while enforcing schedules, quality standards and safety regulations. Ultimately, the Project Coordinator plays a vital role in maintaining productivity, minimizing risks, and ensuring the successful completion of a construction project.
Responsibilities:
- Organize, coordinate and supervise the work of craft workers and all subcontractors on construction projects.
- Acts as an advisor to the owner, design team, and all tradesmen associated with the project
- Writes and maintains a project’s daily record in detail through daily reports. Communicate those reports to the office on a daily basis.
- Oversee subcontractors, suppliers and laborers to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones.
- Inspect work to ensure it meets design specifications, building codes, and company standards.
- Provide a safe work environment through creating a culture of safety for the project and holding each individual on the project accountable for safe behavior.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and site inspections.
- Travel to various job sites, adapting to different environments, site conditions and local regulations.
- Maintain inventory and control over the project tools, materials, equipment and security.
- Determines work priorities, and coordinates work activities with all necessary parties to ensure that the project remains efficient and on schedule.
- Oversee the terms and conditions of the construction contract.
- Apportions work among employees and subcontractors according to project needs and coordinates work so that it maintains a smooth flow among the various trades.
- Introducing new trades to the project as the project requires and collaborates with management of the various trades to ensure the work is carried out in a manner consistent with the project plans and specifications.
- Works in liaison to the owner and coordinates plans and construction activities with the owner.
- Sources material suppliers for consumables required to construct the project and estimate materials required for specific jobs.
- Orders materials and coordinates deliveries of material for construction on the project site as they are required and are stored in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
Qualifications:
- 5-7 Years experience with commercial, nuclear, QSR, and government projects is preferred.
- Ability to travel for extended periods of time
- Highly organized with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must understand construction terms, scheduling, and planning concepts
- OSHA 30 Preferred
- Strong leadership qualities
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment dealing with multiple team members
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Able to work with hand tools and ability to perform basic construction tasks and cleaning
- Ability to understand MEP’s
