What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Area Utilization Review Coordinator position at Integrea Community Mental Health Systems?
Integrea Community Mental Health System is seeking a highly organized and clinically experienced Service Area Utilization Review Coordinator to support and oversee utilization functions across Region 3. This position is full-time. The UR Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Directors/Clinical Directors of Integrea, Carastar Health, and East Center Mental Health Center; the Alabama Department of Mental Health, and other stakeholders to ensure effective residential program utilization and discharge planning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coordinates with the Alabama Department of Mental Health (ADMH) on issues related to housing/residential/crisis slots in Region 3 area (counties serviced by East Central Mental Health Center, Carastar Health, and Integrea Community Mental Health System.
2. Acts as residential placement liaison for consumers in Region 3 and their assigned community mental health centers.
a. Coordinates discharges into residential services across catchment areas, when necessary or requested by a community mental health center, a state hospital, or ADMH. This coordination is intended to complement, not replace, the essential responsibilities of the CMHC.
b. Makes regular contacts with appropriate staff involved in consumer care coordination, case review, and discharge planning at various facilities and programs.
3. Travels to various state and local hospitals and community programs as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 3 years post-master’s clinical experience; residential or inpatient experience preferred.
- Valid Alabama driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Reliable vehicle and proof of current auto insurance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and cloud-based tools (Teams, OneDrive).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyze and present data effectively using charts, graphs, and reports.
