What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Practice: Support Staff (LPN, MA, EMT, or Phlebotomist) position at Integrative Family Medicine of Asheville?
We are an independent family medical clinic seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Phlebotomist, Medical Assistant (MA), or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to support our south Asheville location. This position will perform clerical, administrative and clinical duties. We seek a warm, friendly, service-oriented person who works well independently. This position includes the range of tasks listed below.
The ideal candidate will excel in the following job tasks:
- Performing phlebotomy and point of care testing (including COVID tests) *Pediatric experience a plus, but willing to train the right candidate
- Placing lab orders *Labcorp experience a plus
- Doing injections and administering vaccines
- Performing EKGs, ear lavage, and other procedures
- Chaperoning/assisting with medical provider procedures (Paps, biopsies, etc.)
- Greeting patients and taking vital signs
- Performing front office duties, including answering phone calls, account management, and billing.
- Processing financial transactions, when appropriate
- Managing daily cleaning upkeep, including recycling & trash collection (Professional cleaners come each weekend; this is for mid-week upkeep)
- Processing/sending medical records requests
We seek a good-natured team player who is excited about supporting our patients’ wellness in-person, over the phone, and behind the scenes. Preference will be given to someone desiring a long-term position. This is a new position with a proposed start date this summer.
Additional requirements include:
- Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated success in phlebotomy & medical procedures
- Comfortable working with adult and pediatric patients (willing to train on peds)
- Commitment to following HIPAA guidelines
- EMR experience and internet savvy *G-Suite experience a plus
- Minimum typing speed of 45 words per minute (required)
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage personal stressors
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $23.15 - $26.00 per hour
