RN Training Officer

Job Summary
The RN Training Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing education and training programs to ensure staff competency, compliance, and professional growth. This position supports orientation, continuing education, and performance improvement initiatives to promote high-quality patient care and adherence to regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and deliver nursing orientation programs for new hires.
• Conduct ongoing education sessions on clinical skills, safety, infection control, and policy updates.
• Ensure all training content aligns with organizational policies, state/federal regulations, and accreditation requirements.
• Maintain training records and ensure completion of required competencies and certifications.
• Serve as a clinical resource for nursing staff, providing guidance on evidence-based practices.
• Monitor staff performance and provide coaching or remedial training as needed.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
• Assist in reviewing and updating nursing policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and infection control standards.
• Collaborate with leadership to identify training needs and gaps.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance outcomes.
• Recommend revisions or new educational initiatives based on data and staff needs

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred.

Experience

• Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience.
• Experience in staff education, training, or leadership preferred.
• Familiarity with correctional healthcare is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58.00 - $62.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
