Accountant
Location: In-Office | Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PMFull-Time | ExemptThe STAT Group – Louisiana
About the Role
The STAT Group is seeking an Accountant to lead financial reporting, support strategic planning, and guide our accounting team. This position plays a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, ensuring compliance, and driving process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries; maintain general ledger accuracy Analyze financial data to support business decisions Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports Lead and mentor accounting staff Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and tax preparation Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards Participate in special projects and system enhancements
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5 years of progressive accounting experience Strong understanding of journal entries, general ledger, and financial reporting Experience with budgeting and financial analysis
Preferred:
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Advanced Excel skills
Working Conditions
- In-office role with occasional field work May require weekend or holiday hours to meet deadlines Light duty physical activity (lifting up to 20 lbs occasionally)
