Mental Health Technician – Adult Psych

Location: Westbrook, Maine
Openings: 3
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Job Summary

The Mental Health Technician provides direct support and assistance to adult psychiatric patients in an acute Psychiatric ICU setting. The role requires strong communication, observation, and de-escalation skills while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience working with acute adult mental health/psychiatric patients
  • Strong de-escalation skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
  • Comfortable working with patients experiencing behavioral and psychiatric symptoms

  • 6-bed Psychiatric ICU
  • Patient ratio: 3:5
  • EMR/Equipment: Not specified

Dress Code

  • Business casual
  • No ripped jeans, shorts, logo T-shirts/sweatshirts, or open-toed shoes
