Job Description
Position: Purchasing/Buyer
Duration: 6 Months Contract to Hire
Location: South Plainfield, NJ
Immediate Interview
Position Summary
• Responsible for the Procurement/Sourcing of materials, goods and services, order accuracy, change orders, invoice approval/discrepancies and the management of Company approved vendors.
• Biopharmaceutical Company based in South Plainfield, NJ
• Contract to Hire (date of hire not determined and could go 6 months )
• 1-3 years of procurement, buying, sourcing is preferred.
• Previous Pharmaceutical or Biopharmaceutical experience a plus but not a requirement
• Computer experience: Word/ Excel with Procurement Software or Microsoft AX a plus
Qualifications
Essential Functions
• Confirms and issues Purchase Orders; expedites orders, communicates any purchase order delivery changes and processes returns as requested.
• Reviews Purchase Orders and Requisitions to ensure all orders for goods and services comply with corporate policy.
• Works closely with all departments to understand requirements and special needs
• Interfaces with Receiving Department and Material Management as needed.
• Negotiates and maintains vendor pricing.
• Interfaces with finance department and vendors to resolve pricing or service discrepancies.
• Monitors and evaluates vendor performance and recommends necessary action to improve performance including savings and compliance with rules and regulations.
