About the Company
Kitting manufacturing operations deals with packaging items into a final "kit." This would involve assembling boxes and inserts, printing and applying labels to branded boxes, placing bottles and finished products into boxes and other packaging material. The position would also deal with "conl" operations as well, which is filling bottles with solutions (liquid and solid). And yes this position does require dealing with hazardous materials.
About the Role
The Formulation Technician is responsible for the formulation of buffers and reagents using a variety of laboratory equipment to supply the CONL (labeled container) and Kitting manufacturing operations. You will also be responsible for performing in-process testing of materials using pH, conductivity, oxygen analysis, water content, etc.
Responsibilities
- Conduct chemical and physical laboratory formulations to support both the Mass Spectrometry and Capillary Electrophoresis product lines.
- Perform CONL and kitting operations as needed to support manufacturing and production goals.
- Communicate effectively with team members, team leads, and managers to identify and resolve issues, maintain lab cleanliness, ensure inventory accuracy, and verify product quality meets specifications.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in performing all assigned formulation, CONL, kitting, and related laboratory/manufacturing tasks as directed by the manager or supervisor, including reprioritizing activities, supporting cross-functional needs, assisting in other production areas, responding to urgent production/troubleshooting demands, and contributing to process improvements to meet quality, safety, and delivery objectives in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in a related scientific discipline
- A minimum of 1 year experience in a biotech lab environment or equivalent.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes the use of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.
- Able to lift, move, or carry equipment up to 50lbs.
- Able to stand for extended periods (1 shift).
Preferred Skills
- A laboratory utilizing mass spectrometry or capillary electrophoresis.
- An industrial laboratory or manufacturing facility.
