Firewall Administrator
Location: Lutz, FL 33549 | Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Duration: 12 Months | Possible for Extension
PAYRATE: $55-$60 PER HOUR ON W2
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Firewall Administrator to support enterprise firewall infrastructure, VPNs, security investigations, and large-scale firewall upgrades. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with firewall deployment, implementation, troubleshooting, and security operations, preferably within a regulated environment.
Must-Have Skills
- 3 years of hands-on experience upgrading, deploying, and implementing firewalls.
- Strong experience with VPN creation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of ICS/OT protocols, including Modbus and CIP.
- Experience working in a regulated environment, with exposure to SOC/SOCS, NERC CIP, or similar compliance requirements.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Check Point Firewalls.
- Fundamental understanding of network routing and switching.
- Experience with firewall rules, security policies, and access controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and troubleshoot firewall-related tickets and security investigations.
- Troubleshoot firewall connectivity issues and create or modify firewall rules as needed.
- Implement new VPNs and troubleshoot existing VPN connections.
- Support and participate in large-scale firewall upgrades and implementations.
- Collaborate with network and security teams to resolve infrastructure issues.
- Ensure firewall changes and implementations follow applicable security and regulatory requirements.
Work Schedule
- Must be local to the Tampa/Lutz area and able to work onsite at least 3 days per week.
- After-hours support may be required for scheduled implementations, typically around 7:00 PM ET/MT at least once per week.
Ideal Candidate: A hands-on Firewall Administrator with strong firewall/VPN expertise, ICS/OT protocol knowledge, and regulated-industry experience, particularly in environments governed by NERC CIP or similar security standards.
Salary : $55 - $60
