Job Title: Central Sterile Technician
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 3 Months Possible Extension
Pay Rate: $30.00 – $35.00/hour. on W2
Shift: Night Shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM)
Schedule: 5x8s | 40 hours per week
Job Summary:
The Central Sterile Technician is responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and equipment. This role supports safe surgical and procedural services by ensuring all sterile supplies meet regulatory and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Perform decontamination, cleaning, inspection, and sterilization of surgical instruments.
- Identify surgical instruments, trays, and equipment accurately.
- Follow sterile processing standards and infection control protocols.
- Operate and monitor sterilization equipment per department guidelines.
- Maintain accurate documentation and tracking of sterilized items.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support operating rooms and clinical departments with timely instrument delivery.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of Central Sterile experience (2 years preferred).
- Strong knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical instruments, and equipment.
- CRCST certification (required).
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in high-volume hospital or trauma center environments.
