Essential Functions
Accounting Operations & Transaction Oversight
- Support and oversee daily accounting transactions including journals, ledgers, and account coding to ensure accuracy and accountability of company financial data.
- Review and verify accounting entries within Sedona Office and related accounting systems.
- Ensure proper reconciliation of cash activity and daily accounting transactions.
- Assist in maintaining accurate general ledger activity across multiple accounts and departments.
- Prepare and review monthly bank reconciliations.
- Complete balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Ensure journal entries are accurate, timely, and properly recorded, including accrued and prepaid expenses.
- Assist in identifying discrepancies and resolving accounting variances.
- Provide day-to-day support and coordination for transactional accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and credit card processing.
- Assist in monitoring project job costing and internal financial coding accuracy.
- Support customer account review, credits, collections, and unapplied cash resolution.
- Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules for management as requested.
- Assist leadership by providing timely and accurate financial information to support business decisions.
- Support monthly close processes and internal reporting deadlines.
- Prepare state sales tax filings and assist with licensing-related financial requirements.
- Support fiscal year-end audit preparation and external review processes.
- Assist in maintaining organized documentation for audits and compliance needs.
- Assist with inventory counts, reconciliations, and financial review of inventory activity.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in systems, efficiency, cost containment, and financial processes.
- Recommend practical process improvements that support company growth and accuracy.
- Oversee and provide guidance and daily coordination support to transactional accounting team members, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and office support roles.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with internal teammates, vendors, and customers.
- Support accounting team priorities in a collaborative, solution-focused environment.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 1–3 years of accounting experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working in accounting systems.
- High attention to detail and organizational ability.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Sedona Office or similar accounting software preferred.
- Experience supporting AP, AR, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Exposure to construction, service, or project-based accounting environments preferred.
- CPA not required.

- Occasional filing, document handling, and office movement required.
