Job Summary
Medical Call Center Representative will have core responsibilities in supporting medical office staff and maintaining detailed patient and medical records. Patients, visitors and medical staff will turn to you for information and help with a variety of issues. Our Medical Call Center Representative should be efficient and well-spoken with experience running multiple tasks. Your goal is to ensure the smooth workflow of our medical facilities, so that our patients receive the best possible care. This fast-paced team-oriented role will commonly work with office staff for collaborative patient satisfaction.
Duties and responsibilities
- Answers all inbound patient phone calls
- Answers questions and offers information, as requested, to provide patient focused services as an advocate of Integrated Pain Associates
- Documents all phone calls while speaking with patients through the Electronic Medical Record system
- Documents and tags the appropriate departments in patient messages
- Researches each call by reviewing past exams, prescriptions, and messages before presenting to a provider or management team
- Ability to understand the difference between an urgent and minor patient concern
- Process incoming voicemails, re-faxes medical records, and additional administrative projects as assigned
- Understand office policies and procedures, able to follow instruction with minimal supervision
- Manages the email and IM communication in a timely fashion
- Additional related tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience in a medical office or call center setting (at least one year)
- HIPAA compliant and sound medical practices
- Ability to multi-task with many duties
- Operate office equipment such as fax and copy machine, scanner and multi-line phone system
- Bi-lingual preferred
- Preferred Call Center Experience in a medical setting
- Understanding of office practice software
- Understanding of medical terminology
Working conditions
