Responsible for managing all aspects of project engineering from planning, design, implementation to completion. The Project Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, contractors, and clients, to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets based on project goals and objectives.
  • Manage project execution to ensure that all deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to project stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Coordinates to ensure accurate drawings for inventory, bin, and production maps
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and vendors.
  • Ensure that all project documentation is up to date, accurate, and accessible.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to project teams as needed.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for project stakeholders and senior management.
  • Participate in project review meetings and make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory standards.
  • Stay up-to-date on current trends in the industry and make recommendations to the leadership team.
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging technology and make recommendations to the leadership team.
  • Other responsibilities as directed.

Design Engineering Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop products using Solidworks software.
  • Collaborate with engineers, other team members, and other departments, including manufacturing to ensure designs meet functional, aesthetic, and production requirements.
  • Generate technical drawings for production, including assembly drawings, part drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Prepare and review technical drawings and documentation.
  • Lead design reviews, make recommendations and implement approved improvements through the design review process.
  • Create prototypes and conduct testing to verify designs meet requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of design and production activities.

Design Responsibilities:

  • Design steel fabrications using sheet metal components, structural shapes, and other mechanical parts and assemblies.
  • Create 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks software.
  • Nest components using Sigmanest software for efficient use of material.
  • Develop quotes and take offs for concepts through fully designed products.
  • Design product components and assemblies based on specifications and requirements.
  • Develop Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • Create detailed technical drawings and specifications for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Create HTML for electronic drawing control.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the design and manufacturing teams to ensure that designs are feasible and can be manufactured efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all designs and modifications.
  • Perform design reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings and models
  • Participate in product development projects, including design reviews and product testing
  • Stay up-to-date with latest SolidWorks software updates and techniques

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
  • At least 5 – 7 years of experience as a SolidWorks Designer or similar role
  • Proficient in SolidWorks software and other related design tools
  • At least 3 – 5 years of experience in steel fabrication, sheet metal design, and mechanical part design.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and design processes
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with CNC programming and machining.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize, and manage resources effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of project management software and tools
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to identify and mitigate project risks
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
