JOB OVERVIEW:
This position is responsible for performing many accounting functions including but not limited to monthly completion of the general ledger, journal entries, manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, preparation of quarterly financial statements (balance sheet, statement of income, statement of cash flows) and related data. In addition, the position has increasing levels of responsibility as well as complexity of accounting terms and methodologies, in analyzing and reviewing financial information for accuracy as well as trends.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for completion of general ledger accounting trial balances on a monthly basis. Information must be completed timely and accurately. Must be able to answer review questions.
- Supports general ledger processing; prepares and enters month end and other required journal entries.
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Assisting the CFO in monthly closings, ledger scrutiny and focus on improvement techniques to minimize closing times.
- Supports the preparation of financial statements quarterly, including footnotes and audit quality documentation.
- Manage the preparation of bank reconciliations and review of ledger account reconciliations and analysis.
- Completes assigned balance sheet account analysis. Reviews monthly transactions and balances for accuracy.
- Prepare forecasts based on actual and projected information obtained from management and self-developed.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Knowledge of US GAAP reporting requirements.
- Intermediate level business system computer skills including exposure to general ledger, and financial reporting packages. QuickBooks and/or Great Plains experience a plus
- Strong work ethic and well organized.
- Comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with normal activities.
- Analytical and reasoning abilities, with strong numeric skills.

COMPLEXITY:
Consistently work on complex and unique assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues. Make recommendations for new procedures. Analyze more complex technical or non-technical problems and suggest solutions where precedent may not exist.
SUPERVISION:
Work under minimal supervision and may act independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Typically, 2-4 plus years’ experience in the accounting field.
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. Advanced degree and/or CPA a plus.
