Per-Diem Home Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) – Libertyville, Illinois
Location: Libertyville, Illinois 60048
Pay: $50–$60 per hour, depending on experience
Job type: Part-time, per diem
Minimum compensation: Two-hour guaranteed minimum per scheduled visit, plus approved mileage and parking reimbursement
A private integrative medical practice is seeking an experienced registered nurse for recurring weekly in-home infusion visits with one established adult patient in Libertyville, Illinois.
This is a small per-diem position consisting initially of one approximately 2–3 hour visit per week. The weekly appointment time will be arranged among the nurse, patient and practice. Additional per-diem patients may become available in the future.
Responsibilities:
Complete and document the pre-infusion nursing assessment
Obtain and record vital signs
Establish peripheral IV access
Administer physician-ordered vitamin and nutrient infusions
Monitor the patient throughout treatment
Recognize and respond appropriately to infusion reactions or changes in condition
Discontinue the IV and provide post-infusion instructions
Document the completed treatment and communicate with the prescribing practice
Follow proper infection-control, medication-handling and sharps-disposal procedures
The practice will arrange and provide the patient-specific prescribed infusion products, IV supplies, written physician orders and treatment protocols in accordance with applicable requirements.
Qualifications:
Active, unrestricted Illinois RN license
Current BLS certification
ACLS certification preferred
At least two years of recent nursing experience involving frequent peripheral IV insertion
Home infusion, infusion-center, emergency department, ICU or similar experience strongly preferred
Excellent peripheral IV placement skills
Experience administering and monitoring IV medications or nutrient infusions
Reliable transportation within Libertyville and surrounding Lake County
Professional references and successful background check
Dependable, professional and comfortable working independently in a patient’s residence
Accurate clinical documentation and communication skills
CRNI certification is welcomed but not required.
