Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
- Handle incoming calls, answer inquiries, and provide information about services offered.
- Collect patient information and verify insurance details.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure documentation review is completed timely.
- Process patient payments and manage billing inquiries.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure seamless patient care.
- Utilize knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-10 codes when necessary.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed to support office operations.
- Prepare for future patients by completing routing slips.
- Work as a team with your front desk teammates.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role within a medical office, clinic, or hospital setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus for those working in eyecare practices.
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other office software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation review.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual in Spanish is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
